Strawbery Banke
Visitors to Strawbery Banke have the opportunity to experience and imagine how people lived and worked in this typical American neighborhood throughout four centuries of history. Through its restored houses, its featured exhibits, its historic landscapes and gardens, and its interpretive programs, Strawbery Banke tells the stories of the many generations who settled in the Portsmouth, NH, community from the late l7th to the mid-20th century.

Portsmouth Historical Society

Founded in 1917 to save the John Paul Jones House from demolition the Society now operates the John Paul Jones House and adjacent Discover Portsmouth Center to preserve and explore Portsmouth history.

The Portsmouth Harbour Trail
The Harbour Trail passes more than 70 points of scenic and historic significance in Portsmouth, N.H.
Along the way are 10 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, 10 National Historic Landmarks, and three homes maintained by the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.

Historic New England

Prescott Park
Stretching along the Piscataqua River from lower State Street to Mechanic Street are over ten acres of flower gardens, walkways, seating, docking and grass areas all designed for public use and recreation. In the summer a "trial garden" is planted with over 500 flower varieties. There is a "formal garden" featuring trees and the sense of a park-within-a-park. In addition there are fountains, tree lined walkways, a flower wall and a separate rose garden for the public to view.  During the summer months, the Prescott Park Arts Festival organization is granted the rights to showcase artistic venues of music, theater and art in Prescott Park for all to enjoy.

Old York Historical Society
Visit Old York and explore nine historic museum buildings, a nature preserve, contemporary art gallery and restored gardens. Tour the properties, explore our collections, research your history or take part in our renowned education programs.

Cape Neddick Lighthouse
There is free parking at Sohier Park with an excellent view of the lighthouse. The lighthouse and grounds are not open to the public.
